Gapang Beach is an unique beach, with white sand halfway around the bay, surrounded by large overhanging trees; the 'Gapang' trees. So you can choose to sit on the beach in the sun, or in the shade of these grand old trees. With a great house reef in front of the diveshop and a couple of resident turles living in the bay, it's a perfect place for snorkeling and long relaxed shore dives. |

| Gapang offers the widest choice in accommodation on Pulau Weh, from basic wooden huts on the beach, or nice, simple bungalows spread out along the hill overlooking the bay to comfortable bungalows with springbeds, bathrooms (mandi-style), fans or AC in a garden setting at the entrance to the beach. Prices ranges from 3,50 to 20 € (Euro) per night. |

All 7 (duplex) cottages are now ready for use, offering 11 rooms to rent out. The "diver-friendly" rooms are very spaciously set up, with good springbeds (Single and King size beds available), a good wall fan, a nice clean bathroom with western toilet, shower AND indonesian style mandi (convenient for testing camera housings ;-) and a small pantry with a waterkettle, a fridge and rinsing basin, a wooden veranda with sliding doors, facing the sea/beach. There are plenty of electricity sockets to charge all torches, camera's, laptops, mobile phones, iPODs n other gadgets. |

On Gapang Beach there are six restaurants to choose from. Dat's Zero Cafe, Buchari's Limbo Restaurant, Gapang Jaya restaurant, and Dang Dang Na Restaurant are open for breakfast, lunch and dinners. There's choice from local Acehnese food, more general Indonesian
dishes, tropical fruit salads and some basic Western food such as
pancakes, sandwiches, french fries and Kentucky fried chicken for
example. Local versions of Pizza and Lasagna are also possible, when
ordered in time before to allow for the neccesary preparations. Also
it's possible to order other special meals beforehand, such as BBQ
Fish. (All fish on Pulau Weh is extremely fresh, so some people really
fancy our tuna for making sashimi themselves.) |

| Beer and a few kinds of the local Indonesian brands of "firewater" are usually available on the beach. |
