PADI Specialties

diving diverandreef
  • 1 Theory Session
  • 1 Open Water Dive

Description: The Enriched Air Diver (Nitrox)  trains you to dive with Enriched Air – air with extra added oxygen up to 40%, which gives you more no-decompression dive time. This means maximizing your time underwater at the beautiful 25-35m depths of Pulau Weh. It also shortens your necessary surface intervals (more dives in a day!) and adds extra conservatism to your dives. There is much to explore, easy to combine with your Advanced Course or even better together with your Deep Diver Specialty.

Course duration: 1 day
Entry requirements: Open Water Diver
Age: 12 years
  • 3 Theory Sessions
  • 3 Open Water Dives

Description: Pulau Weh offers an extremely good opportunity to do a Deep Diver Specialty because of its impressive deep dive sites. The Deep Diver Specialty certifies you to dive to 40m (instead of 30m from the Advanced Open Water certification) and consists of 3 training dives and theory sessions (video, book and knowledge reviews).

Course duration: 2 – 3 days
Entry requirements: Advanced Open Water Diver
Age: 15 years
  • 1 Theory Session
  • 1 Confined Session
  • 3 Open Water Dives

Description: Having scuba tanks on your back isn’t a requirement for exploring the underwater world. Many scuba divers have discovered the joy of mounting cylinders on their sides. Sidemount diving gives you flexibility and streamlining options. Plus, you don’t have to walk with heavy cylinders on your back – just enter the water, clip them on and go.

Course duration: 2 – 3 days
Entry requirements: Open Water Diver
Age: 15 years

Go Pro - The Divemaster Course

We always say, if you learn how to guide in the waters around Pulau Weh, you can guide anywhere! With our deep reefs, stronger currents and big variety of marine life there is much to learn. Check out our diving page to read more about our dive sites.

Our PADI course on Pulau Weh is taught like an internship and you will become part of the Lumba-Lumba team. As a dive master trainee here you have the opportunity to understand how a dive shop is run by getting to know our procedures for courses as well as for dive trips.

  • Equipment and Compressor Use
  • Shop Management
  • Underwater Life
  • Gas Blending
  • Technical Diving

We think that dive master trainees should spend between 1 – 2 months here to finish the course. If you have more time, there is the option to stay longer to get more practice and experience. Our program allows dive master trainees to go on a many dives giving them the opportunity to learn about currents, deep dives and helping guiding guests in these more challenging conditions.

Ready to jump into the world of professional diving? Then come do your dive master training with us!

Please note: For all PADI courses on Pulau Weh you need to answer and sign a Medical Questionnaire as soon as you are getting signed up here in the shop. The purpose of this is to find out if you should be examined by your doctor before participating in recreational diver training. A positive response to a question does not necessarily disqualify you from diving. A positive response means that there is a preexisting condition that may affect your safety while diving and you must seek the advice of your physician prior to engaging in dive activities. Also read all questions carefully. For example “Have you ever had or do you currently have frequent or severe suffering from motion sickness” doesn’t mean a “Yes” if you are getting a little seasick by joining a boat ride over a rough sea! If you are not sure, just sent us a message beforehand to clarify. You can find the PADI example here.
